Gen-too Mac Solutions Ltd (hereinafter known as GMS) was founded in 2003. Since then it has grown from a home-based business with one full-time and one part-time staff dealing soley with education clients, to a commercially zoned workshop with two full-time staff and two part-time staff serving education, small business and retail markets mostly in east Auckland but with clients throughout the country.

After several years experience working in schools followed by two years in the retail market, it became apparent to the founder that the education sector was receiving inadequate support from current service vendors; costs were too high and repair turn-around time often ran into weeks. Teachers were increasingly wasting valuable teaching time attempting to fix ICT equipment themselves, and the school's investment in computers lay idle due to the general malaise that had set in amongst staff. The founder was approached by a number of schools to help them change this. GMS was established to fill the gap left by the existing commercial and retail support providers, ensuring educators and students receive the ongoing support that they need to utilise Apple computers and technology effectively in the classroom. The original purpose of GMS still holds true today and our team is very much focused on providing the very best service and support possible for the education sector, providing full ongoing service and support contracts to several schools in the area as well as offering ad hoc support and servicing to schools all over Auckland.

In 2008 GMS relocated to a retail workshop in a commercial zone, we  experienced a significant increase in retail repair foot traffic but found that our brand was very weak and people did not immediately understand what we did.  Consequently GMS went through a rebranding excercise and the iService brand was born.  Since then local recognition of the brand has grown which in turn has resulted in further expansion.
